test and the re test varied from 7 weeks to 70 weeks with an average interval of 30 weeks, it is obvious, that though her results showed consistency it cannot be truly assumed that the test will give a true prediction of the child's future abilities. If the test is used by a skilful examiner it can yield useful information about the baby's present level of functioning, but it should not be used by an inexperienced person or by an anxious parent as a device to determine whether or not a child will grow up to be grammar school material or perhaps mentally deficient. What these scales measure may be quite different from intelligence scales used later
